Business Description:
According to a report by McKinsey, the global market for “innovative solutions to cut energy consumption or improve conversion efficiency are projected to generate annual revenues of €2,140 billion by 2020”. IP Green Technologies commercially develops proven ‘green’ innovations which improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and greenhouse gases or decrease dependency on fossil fuels.
The team of experienced Industry Directors at IP Green Technologies forge trade partnerships between small innovative companies and major corporations (trade partners) which market the innovations to their large customer bases. Green technologies encompassing innovative new technologies which have reached the stage where they are proven and ready for commercial development in the following sectors: -
Energy efficiency in the building sector e.g. building automation, smart meters.
Water, waste and recycling
Energy storage technologies Power generation – e.g. solar power, wind power, biofuels
Carbon capture and storage
Role Description:
The Non-Executive Directors at IP Green Technologies perform the usual role of a Non-Executive Director:
Input into the strategy for IP Green Technologies and each of its 5 innovative companies.
Mentoring the management at the innovative companies as well as providing entrepreneurial input.
Governance of IP Green Technologies and each of its 5 innovative companies.
Represent IP Green Technologies from time to time on the Boards of its 5 innovative companies.
Special projects such as the identification of new innovative companies.
Remuneration comprises a day rate of £700 per day payable for work where the company already has funding in place or £1,050/day (day rate + 50%) for work where payment is delayed to match funding. About 2 days per month of work is envisaged. The individual can also, where appropriate, undertake Industry Director work.
There is the opportunity to invest in the rapid growth of IP Green Technologies on preferential terms ahead of other investors. Shareholders receive quarterly dividends as well as multiple partial exit opportunities.
Experience /
Skills Required:
The individual should ideally have the following:
Main board or subsidiary Board experience.
An understanding of the ‘green’ or clean tech industries.
Experience of investing in and working with small innovative companies.
